Poor power quality can have multiple causes. The installation of new, modern electrical equipment, solar panels or LED lighting are the most common causes of poor power quality. Various new developments can load the power grid to such an extent that the required power quality is not optimal.

The consequences of poor power quality include the ignition of cables or rapid deterioration of systems or equipment.

Power Quality can be improved in 3 different ways:

Compensating for reactive power through the installation of fixed or switch shunt capacitors.
The reduction of harmonic pollution through the installation of active/passive harmonic filters.
The prevention or reduction of voltage changes (flicker, dips, voltage unbalance).
