End terminations and plugs for Merwedehaven high-voltage substation
In Dordrecht, the old 50kV and 13kV high-voltage substations have been merged into one new building by Stedin. Batenburg Energietechniek facilitates this transition by supplying MSA joints, Connex plugs, end terminations, and voltage testers.

The biggest challenge in this project is the scale. The station provides electricity to a significant part of the Drechtsteden region. Through the implementation of modern automation and installations, this station is ready for the future.
End terminations
What is remarkable about this project is the use of cold-castable oil in the end terminations. This allows the technician to fill the end termination with cold oil, eliminating the need for preheating. It enhances safety for the technician during the installation process.
Training and certification
To execute this project, Stedin's technicians were first trained. This training took place at our supplier Pfisterer in Switzerland. As a result, all technicians are certified to safely make the correct connections.
